Tripled scented candles are very highly richly fragranced candles that can fill an entire room with their aromatic scent without being lit. That is if the correct fragrance oil is used, but if not they aren’t really triple scented candles. The difference is whether or not multi-purpose oil is used for the fragrance or oil designed specifically for candles, which are made to insure that the candles throw out the most scent that is possible. Another factor is the scent load capacity of the wax. Some wax can hold more scent per pound of wax. So whether or not a candle can hold a larger amount of scent oil depends on the wax used. Wax that can hold 1.5 ounces of fragrance oil per pound is the usual standard for triple scented candles. Some candle makers claim to have invented recipes that hold more than that. Each person that buys tripled scented candles can smell for themselves and determine, which claims are true. When wax is pushed beyond its capacity to hold fragrance oil the oil will seep out.
